INNSIDE by Meliá, pioneers of the

design-led business hotel movement in Germany and moving to the UK (Manchester) in 2014, launches its third property in Dusseldorf on Monday 16th September. The brand's concept seeks to blur the boundaries between business and lifestyle hotels.

The colourful 17-storey building, The Colorium, consists of over 2,000 coloured glass panels and is one

of the architectural highlights of the city, designed by leading British architect William Alsop.

The hotel is situated in the most attention-grabbing area of the city, the former industrial harbour and

warehouse district, MedienHafen, lined with famous Gehry buildings. Dusseldorf itself is known as the Knightsbridge of The Rhine, largely due to it being the fashion capital of Germany.

The 134-room hotel includes nine suites and occupies floors five – 14. It will open following a nine

month project carried out by renowned Spanish interior designer, Alvaro Sans.

Behind the high-impact façade lies a calm aesthetic, with black, white and silver tones and clean lines

prevailing. The rooms are light, spacious and comfortable, being well-appointed with state-of-the-art technology for business travellers, who will make up 80% of the clientele at the hotel.

Exceptional dining is a feature across all INNSIDE by Meliá properties and The View Skylounge,

Restaurant and Bar on the 16thfloor will not disappoint. It has 360-degree views across the port and city and is set to become a hotspot for locals and international travellers. The chef, Markus Streiber, formerly at Intercontinental Hotels and Movenpick and nominated for the coveted Hospitality Career Award in 2010, will serve a fusion of local and international dishes, surprising and delighting guests with mouth-watering creations, such as poulet fermier noir and turbot & chorizo with risotto.

Dusseldorfers know how to party, and The View will host a number of DJs and live acts each month,

kickstarted with internationally-celebrated DJ Aleksey and singer Sua Amoa at the end of September.

General Manager Markus Vergin, who has worked in various roles at INNSIDE by Meliá, including Sales

& Marketing Director, will lead his team to deliver friendly and efficient, yet informal service to the guests.
