The large demand for supply from budget hotels has led to the rise of hotel aggregators. The sudden spike in business in this segment has seen many investments, some as large as US$100 million.

While we already knew that the customer is the king, we now know that dynamic and personalised content is the cornerstone of any successful campaign to drive more bookings.

The rampant internet penetration has transformed the way travel and hotels operate. Interestingly, mobile boom in bookings is not just restricted to the elite lot in metros. There is evidence to the contrary that a large share of e-commerce transaction is from tier two and three cities.

Opportunities are immense for hoteliers and travel aggregators alike. Companies that utilise technology to facilitate a dynamic response mechanism across all operations will emerge as the leaders of tomorrow. And in the quest to conquer customer mindshare, loyalty program may just not be enough. The time to think different is now. Those who do will lead the pack.
