Full steam ahead in Latin America with hundreds of new projects planned — Source: TOPHOTELPROJECTS

The boom in Latin America's hospitality sector shows no signs of slowing down judging by projections from TOPHOTELPROJECTS. Spanning Central and South America, over 319 projects are planned for the coming years. Mexico, Brazil and Colombia are leading the way with 80, 66 and 23 openings respectively set to happen in the next few years.

68,955 rooms will be added to the continent's portfolio as part of the sector's expansion. 15 projects will be 3 star, 162 will be 4 star and the remaining 142 are slated to be 5 star. Mexico, already a hot tourist destination and boasting some of the most diverse landscapes in Central America, will continue to rival its northern neighbour in claiming a large percentage of international visitors, and this is reflected in the continued development of hotel projects in the country. Brazil, South America's largest landmass, follows closely behind and boasts some of the world's most beautiful beaches. Colombia has seen increased tourism in recent years and this looks set to continue with the spate of planned projects in the Caribbean country.
