Luxury Maldives resort of the Sun Resorts Group channels bohemian ethnicity in its multi-million dollar revamp

Kanuhura is part of the Sun Resorts group, operating luxury hotel complexes in both the Maldives and Mauritius. After 15 years in operation, in August 2015 Kanuhura closed for a full year to be completely remodelled. It will be opening again on December 1st 2016 and has been given a complete overhaul, offering clients an even more special experience in this unique corner of the Indian Ocean.
The private resort is located at the heart of one the the Maldives most spectacular atolls, and has had millions of dollars invested into its renovation. With its feet firmly planted in the idyllic Indian Ocean, the new facelift has gone deeper into island chic by channeling a bohemian spirit, reflected in its subtle colour palette of white offset with feature splashes of colour in wall paintings and upholstery patterns, balanced by pastels of pinks, oranges, blues and purples in the furniture. Furnishings and fixtures draw on more neutral tones and natural materials, such as wicker and bamboo. The overall mood of the resort is of a Gypset spirit, focusing on a relaxed atmosphere in calming surroundings, all reinforced by its stunning location and access to its own private island. The resort also has a spa and wellness retreat and a number of restaurants serving exotic and ethnic cuisines.
