Michael Murphy has been named Vice President of Global Sales at Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Silver Spring - MD, United States.
Michael Murphy will have responsibility for the company's worldwide sales and intermediary marketing efforts. Murphy has a track record of success in sales and marketing roles in a 25-year hospitality industry career, having most recently served as senior vice president of sales for Marriott International, Inc. In his new role, Murphy reports to Chris Malone, chief marketing officer.

Greg Brown has been appointed Vice President, Choice Privileges at Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Silver Spring - MD, United States.
Brown joins Choice from La Quinta Corporation, where he served as vice president of customer and partnership marketing and oversaw the company’s frequent-stay program, Returns, and a loyalty credit card program. Prior to his tenure at La Quinta, he held a number of sales, marketing and finance positions with American Airlines. He holds a master’s of business administration in finance from the University of Texas and a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from Southern Methodist University. Launched in 1998 and with over 5 million members worldwide, Choice Privileges enables members to earn points or airline rewards for qualifying stays at over 3,000 Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion and MainStay Suites hotels throughout the U.S., Canada, Caribbean and Mexico.

Ralph Singer has been appointed Regional Vice President, Sales Cambria Suites Brand at Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Silver Spring - MD, United States.
In this new position, Singer will be responsible for overseeing the strategic growth and development efforts for Cambria Suites, Choice’s newest brand. Singer, a member of the Cambria Suites franchise development team since the brand’s inception, will report to Brad LeBlanc, vice president, franchise sales for Choice’s new construction brands. Singer, a graduate of the University of Memphis with a bachelors in Marketing, has spent the last 10 years in the hospitality industry, nearly three years of which has been spent working for Choice. He served as a Franchise Services Director for the Sleep Inn brand in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia before joining the Cambria sales team in January 2005. Previously, Singer spent seven years directing franchise sales in the southeastern United States while working for U.S. Franchise Systems in Atlanta.

Mary Beth Knight has been appointed Senior Vice President eCommerce at Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Silver Spring - MD, United States.
Mary Beth Knight, who joined Choice in February 2002, is responsible for all electronic channel distribution, including choicehotels.com, third party travel sites, global distribution systems, and electronic database management. Her new role is a testament to her accomplishments and Choice's dedication of increased resources and focus toward the Internet, which continues to grow in importance and is becoming the industry's dominant reservations channel, exceeding phone reservations. Prior to joining Choice, Knight served as vice president, eCommerce for Best Western International. In her 20-year hospitality career, she has also held various senior marketing and sales positions with Doubletree Hotels, Ramada International and Servico Hotel Management Corporation. Knight is a graduate of Columbia College.

Elaine Clancy has been appointed Vice President, Corporate & Real Estate Development at Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Silver Spring - MD, United States.
In this new position, Clancy will identify and assess development opportunities in key markets for Choice's hotel brands, with an emphasis on evaluating and recommending investment strategies for the company’s new, select-service upscale brand, Cambria Suites. Ms. Clancy has more than 15 years of experience in real estate development, financing and investment banking. She joins Choice from Ferris, Baker Watts, Inc., where she was a senior vice president in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group. While at Ferris, Baker Watts, Ms. Clancy worked with a number of real estate investment trusts and real estate operating companies, completing over $1.5 billion in transactions.
