Arlington Hospitality, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM: HOST) is a hotel development, ownership and management company that builds, operates and manages mid-priced hotels. The Company developed the AmeriHost Inn brand, with the first AmeriHost Inn hotel opening in 1989 in Athens, Ohio. Since 1993, the Company's growth strategy has been focused on the expansion of the AmeriHost Inn hotel brand through new construction. After eleven years of developing the brand, in 2000 the Company sold the AmeriHost Inn and AmeriHost Inn & Suites brand names and franchising rights to Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD). The AmeriHost Inn brand is now franchised on a national basis by the world’s largest hotel franchiser. As of September 30, 2001, the Company has a total of 66 AmeriHost Inn hotels open, with an additional four under construction, in 16 states. The Company also owns and/or manages 11 hotels under other various national franchise affiliations. In connection with the sale to Cendant, the Company changed its name from Amerihost Properties, Inc. to Arlington Hospitality, Inc.LATEST NEWS
