Saar Zafrir, the renowned Amsterdam-based interior designer behind Europe's most anticipated hospitality projects, unveils his latest hotel, the Provocateur Berlin. The property is the city's first shamelessly sensual hotel, bar and restaurant located in the upscale Charlottenburg neighborhood. The Design Hotels™ member is Gekko Group's first Berlin property and the standard bearer of provocative luxury in the German capital.

The Provocateur Berlin pays homage to 1920s Parisian glamour with sensual and intricate interiors from Saar Zafrir. The hospitality experience is driven by an ethos of passion and a flair for the creativity, exuberance and joie de vivre of the epoch marked by legendaries such as Edith Piaf and Oscar Wilde. The original elevator lift from the year 1912 accentuates the ground floor transporting guests to their rooms and another era.

Zafrir's playful burlesque inspiration for the property began over a weekend getaway in Paris, laying the groundwork for a revolution in the Berlin hospitality scene with the design of Provocateur Berlin. The designer was drawn to discovering the secret and hidden spots of Paris by midnight, some beautiful, some dark, but all sharing the common pull of passion and desire. The aesthetics and music of Paris and Cabaret-era Berlin led Zafrir to the realization that Provocateur Berlin should be shocking and unexpected.

The hotel's contemporary configuration trades in a traditional lobby for a large drawing room with bar and restaurant. Each of the property's 58 rooms whisper passion in every way with their mysterious and romantic cosy corners. The signature of each room is the "provocateur mode," a button which allows guests to set the mood and drift to a different world as the room's lights dim, seductive tunes commence, and arousing video art plays, making you not want to leave your bed...or lover.
