Set to complete a two million dollar renovation in the next month, the refreshed space by local design firm Studio Hatch offers elevated lobby and public areas, with enhancements to its meeting spaces, 145 guestrooms and suites. Guests can expect to find that the space incorporates subtle nods to the vibrant city of Oakland and a modernized nautical-inspired interior.

Inspired by its marina location, the property's interior welcomes subtle nautical influences and has transitioned to a lighter, brighter color palette including pale blues, light wood, rust, and coral tones. In particular, guests are welcomed by a nautically-inspired chandelier featuring white rope supports and glass light fixtures, beneath a high ceiling with wood paneling reminiscent of a sailboat, and a custom-printed wallcovering in the lobby reminiscent of beads of water.

Abstract artwork pays homage to Waterfront Hotel's location and historical landmarks of Oakland and Jack London Square, adorning the walls of guest room corridors, reception area, and collective spaces. Specifically, the collective spaces offer a living-room inspired environment with a cozy, enlarged brass fireplace, and multiple seating options for socializing and relaxing.
