Southern California based RAR Hospitality, a full-spectrum hospitality management firm, has recently broken ground on the first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in San Diego, The Monsaraz - set to open in summer 2020. Tapestry Collection by Hilton added 14 hotels to its portfolio of modern, stylish hotels in 2018 and has another 45 in its global pipeline (as of Q4 2018), including eight additional California properties. The development is a partnership with local development firm Alliance Development, who brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

RAR Hospitality will own and operate The Monsaraz, bringing 92 rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar. Located in the seaside community of Point Loma, California, the nearly 50,000 square-foot property will boast views of the marina and Downtown San Diego in addition to a contemporary lobby, fitness center, outdoor garden and deck as well as an 800-square-foot meeting room and 4,000 square feet of outdoor event space. The hotel has a distinct Portuguese theme, paying tribute to the Portuguese settlers that landed on Point Loma in the 1500s. The hotel will have a strong storyline that ties into each space of the hotel, allowing for guests to immerse themselves in the local culture.

With over 20 years of experience across many of the world's most distinctive, five-star properties including Kimpton Hotel Wilshire in Los Angeles, Palomar Cityscape in Phoenix and Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Los Angeles-based KNA Design will be leading the interior design plan for The Monsaraz's mid-century modern look and feel. KNA Design is bringing an upscale and functional design strategy that will be unique to this property.
