"We are thrilled to open the doors and introduce Canopy and our 'Enthusiasts' to the Short North and beyond," said Lyle Pauls, general manager of Canopy by Hilton Columbus | Short North. "Our hotel and incredible new dining and bar options bring a fresh experience to Columbus, particularly our one-of-a-kind rooftop that overlooks the revolutionized city."

The ground-floor Central Market House restaurant is named in tribute to the thriving Central Market, which served as the central economic center of Columbus from 1850 until 1966. The Central Market House features a flexitarian menu of local and healthy options.

A dedicated elevator takes guests to Goodale Station, which offers stunning views of Downtown Columbus, the Short North and Goodale Park. Named after Dr. Lincoln Goodale, one of Columbus' founding fathers, Goodale Station features a Southern-inspired menu for dinner and opens each day at 4 p.m. with small plates and craft cocktails.

Each evening, Canopy by Hilton Columbus | Short North will host a complimentary evening tasting, showcasing local drinks and bites for hotel guests, such as offerings from local distilleries Watershed and High Bank, along with local breweries Seventh Son and North High. Guests will receive their first "taste" of the neighborhood at check-in with Canopy's signature welcome gift of Mmello Chocolate Bon Bon, which represents one of the local shops in the Short North neighborhood.

The hotel's three meeting rooms include the Park Boardroom with a capacity of 10, the Haft's Room with a capacity of 50 and the Acre Room with a capacity of 70. The latter two rooms can be combined to create the Haft's Acre Room with a total capacity of 100.

The Haft's Room is named after Albert C. Haft, a wrestler (both professional and amateur) and trainer who also served as a prominent promoter from the late 1910s until the 1960s and ran his operations primarily from Columbus, OH. Haft was a World Heavyweight Champion and the head wrestling coach at the Ohio State University, leading "The Buckeyes" to their first team title in 1923. He holds the Ohio State second-year coaching record to this day.

The Haft's Acre Room is named after an outdoor arena that was located at the southwest corner of Park St. and Goodale Blvd. Boxing and wrestling events were staged there between 1927 and the early 1960s and attracted competitors such as Gorgeous George, Nature Boy Buddy Rogers and Wild Bull Curry.

As a lifestyle brand that embraces its locale, Canopy provides guests with authentic and unique local experiences. Each property is designed as a natural extension of its neighborhood with a connection to local art, food, drink and culture. Hotel team members are called Enthusiasts - Canopy's local experts - and connect guests to the best of their neighborhood, offering recommendations for the best restaurants, shops, running paths and more.
