Generator, the trailblazer of design-driven affordable luxury that has taken the U.S. by storm since opening its first stateside property in Miami, is expanding its North American presence next year with Generator Washington D.C. The multiphase opening will be led with the debut of the property's guestrooms in January 2020, followed by the completion of its buzzing social spaces and food & beverage venues in spring 2020.

Situated in the heart of the city between Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle, Generator Washington D.C. boasts the brand's signature elements: ultra-comfortable private rooms and brilliantly designed shared accommodations, curated food & beverage outlets, millennial-friendly social spaces and interactive programming, all at affordable price points. The brand's newest property is additionally designed with Washington D.C. business travelers in mind, incorporating more private rooms than any of their existing properties – 376 beds in 148 rooms – and innovative, flexible meeting spaces. The property will offer an outdoor pool on the second floor, an amenity unique to Generator's U.S. properties as well as a fitness center, a first for the brand.

Generator Washington D.C. continues the brand's tradition of establishing itself in the most sought-after stretch of its respective city. The property will be settled between the vibrant neighborhoods of Dupont Circle, the popular residential area known for its cultural institutions, eclectic dining and unique shops, and Adams Morgan, the culturally diverse neighborhood that offers both a buzzing nightlife scene and historic row houses. The central location will allow guests to hit the ground running in one of the world's most electric cities in the heart of U.S. global politics, business, finance and education.

Since its inception in Europe in 2011, Generator has grown into an award-winning brand, earning popularity with its blend of high design, budget-friendly accommodations, and magnetic social environments in major European hubs such as Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris, Rome, and Berlin. In October 2019, London-based firm Queensgate Investments, which owns Generator, announced the $400 million acquisition of Freehand Hotels and their respective food & beverage outlets, expanding Generator's portfolio to 18 properties worldwide and deepening its U.S. footprint. With the addition of Generator Washington D.C., the brand will now have a presence across five key cities throughout the U.S.

Generator Washington D.C. is currently accepting reservations for January 2020, while the property's social spaces, including the lively lobby, pool deck and food & beverage venues will be complete in spring 2020.
