Opened just months prior to the pandemic, Sensei Lāna'i, A Four Seasons Resort known for its personalized, evidence-led approach and secluded environment, re-opens with new pricing option, revised name and new safety protocols.

Sensei Lānaʻi, A Four Seasons Resort re-opened its doors to Hawaii residents on July 1, with a full opening as the islands ease quarantine restrictions on trans-Pacific travelers, currently expected on Sept. 1. Located on the 90,000-acre-island of Lāna'i, the luxury wellbeing resort unites the wellness expertise of Sensei with a grounding sense of place and renowned Four Seasons hospitality.

At the heart of Sensei's wellness experience is the Sensei Way, which distills preventive health science, data and research into three simple paths for everyday living: move, nourish and rest. Sensei further enables self-discovery with an educational, enriching environment enhanced by the seamless integration of technology.

"People are seeking evidence-backed wellness brands they can trust as health and wellbeing now feels more important than ever before," said Kevin Kelly, CEO of Sensei. "With our new Guided Sensei Experience and Select-Choice options, we can better meet the needs of our Sensei Retreat guests as they explore their personal wellbeing. One thing has not changed: our inherent, heartfelt intention to help people grow well."

According to a recent survey conducted by MMGY Global on behalf of U.S. Travel Association, nearly sixty percent of travelers say they are interested in visiting a wellness resort to destress, get healthy and contemplate recent events. To respond to this market need, Sensei Lāna'i added a second ala carte experience option, which gives guests a chance to enjoy the luxury of choice for a highly personalized wellbeing retreat that best suits their intentions and passions.

The fully curated Guided Sensei Experience starts at $1,610 per night for double occupancy, which includes a Four Seasons hotel room, personal Sensei Guide to assist guests beginning with pre-arrival and throughout their stay, and $1,200 in daily wellness credits to use toward the enriching Experiences Menu of spa services, one-on-one wellness and fitness consultations, and sport and island activities. A new Select-Choice Experience starts at $650 per night, double occupancy, and includes overnight accommodations and à la carte options from the Experiences Menu. Both options, which can be combined throughout one's stay for greater flexibility, include access to up to 12 complimentary wellbeing classes each day that range from exploration of the lush surroundings via small-group, instructor-led hikes to yoga, fitness, meditation and more. The choices available in the Experience Menu include treatments in a private spa hale; fitness, yoga, and meditation instruction by experienced practitioners; nutrition and mindfulness sessions; as well inspirational activities such as exploration of the surrounding tropical grounds by UTV, ocean sports, oceanfront golf, tennis, archery, ropes course, horseback riding, sunset cruises, and more. Additionally, all guests enjoy transport to the resort's sister beach property and semi-private inter-island transport on Lānaʻi Air from Honolulu, thus reducing exposure to large crowds.

Sensei Lāna'i's unique location in Kōʻele, nestled within an expansive tropical setting and miles of untouched nature, creates an ideal environment for luxury travelers in search of seclusion and natural distancing. Each of the 96 spacious accommodations are seamlessly integrated into the surroundings of Cook pine forests and swaying palm trees. Tranquil pathways wind through a 25-acre property and stunning sculpture garden with works by world-renowned artists, and individual 1,000-square-feet spa hales (Hawaiian for "home") offer personal sanctuaries to unwind, rejuvenate and refresh. All dining is crafted by Sensei by Nobu, highlighting sustainable ingredients from nearby Sensei Farms, with ample seating and sweeping outdoor dining spaces.

Previously known as Four Seasons Hotel Lanai at Koele, A Sensei Retreat, the resort is now Sensei Lāna'i, A Four Seasons Resort. With two Four Seasons flagged resorts on the island of Lāna'i, the other named Four Seasons Resort Lanai, the change clarified that the two are separate entities and emphasizes the Sensei wellbeing focus and programming available only at that property.

Sensei has always been on a mission to promote preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices. Ahead of its highly anticipated re-opening, Sensei leveraged the knowledge and expertise of co-founder, Dr. David Agus, a world-leading physician and scientist, and coupled with the Lead with Care program, the new Four Seasons global standard of hotel cleanliness and safety protocols. Stringent sanitation protocols and social distancing measures include hourly cleanings of high-touch public areas, daily disinfecting of guest rooms, personal sanitization kits in guest rooms, and contact-free dining options.
