Opening April 2021, Kisawa Sanctuary is 300-hectares of beachfront calm and coastal forest on Benguerra Island, where the pairing of cultural celebration and environmental conservation presents a new, forward-looking narrative for both Mozambique and island escapes.

Design has led the story of Kisawa, the first hospitality project by entrepreneur, creative director and philanthropist Nina Flohr, whose mission was to create a bond between people and place; where luxury is defined by freedom and the generosity of thoughtful choices. The property, located in the southern third of the vast country of Mozambique, is positioned along 5 kilometres of pristine island coastline. 22 bungalows across 12 residences, in addition to the Kisawa Residence, are situated either within a sheltered cove, or up in the dunes, overlooking the ocean. At the heart of the sanctuary, guests discover shared spaces dedicated to dining, relaxation and wellbeing, along with an expansive Natural Wellness Center.

Kisawa launches with a soft opening on the cove side of the property. Guests are welcome across fourteen uniquely and individually furnished bungalows - each possessing their own beachfront, private infinity pool and day area - with an outdoor kitchen, cabana and a dedicated service team. Guests may choose from two dining venues - the Cove Mussassa and the Barraca, plus a mobile Pizza Tuk Tuk. Extensive in bungalow dining and on-location menus, such as picnics in the red dunes overlooking the ocean, or sundowners while sailing on a traditional Mozambican Dhow allow for experiences centred around pure relaxation, wellness, wildlife, nature and adventure, all on offer and tailored to individual guest preferences.
