Los Angeles-based Palisociety has announced the opening of itsnewest property in the Pacific Northwest, Hotel Grand Stark, now welcoming guests to the city's CentralEastside neighborhood.

Sitting across the river from the city's downtown core, Hotel Grand Stark is a 57-room historic propertythat has been carefully and thoughtfully designed and reimagined back to its hospitality roots. The 1908building is a four-story structure that was originally built as a hotel (née Hotel Chamberlain in 1924) andhoused a legendary local furniture manufacturer for the past 80 years. Today, its classic façade sits at thecorner of SE Grand Ave. and SE Stark St with signage that takes inspiration from the furniture store'soriginal sign that marked the intersection for decades

Known for its locally inspired and neighborhood-centric approach to independent hospitality, Palisocietyhas partnered with Portland-based North 45 Projects on the design of the hotel's common areas andwith locally revered Submarine Hospitality for the carefully developed food & beverage program and twodistinct culinary concepts on-property, open to both locals and hotel guests alike.Hotel Grand Stark is envisioned as a communal, inclusive public space featuring a gallery-inspired centrallobby that connects the public spaces upon entry with a neutral backdrop punctuated by a carefullycollected art installation featuring local artists and makers, custom furnishings and vintage piecesthroughout. Guests are welcomed into the spacious lobby where original hardwood floors, white-washedand art-adorned walls and an abundance of natural light flood the space. Modernist archways line bothsides of the primary lobby space and tall ceilings are highlighted with a mixed assortment of vintage andindustrial-style lighting. Through the length of the lobby, clusters of lounge style seating fill the spacewith mixed and matched contemporary furniture - marble tables, leather chairs, wood side tables - anda central skylight adds even more natural light to the space. To the right from the entry, a front desk areaawaits with a stunning dark green centerpiece desk that sits before a wall of Breccia Pernice marble in aterracotta tone. Behind the front desk, guests will find the Study Hall, a bright, separate space designedto be a community work and meeting space that can also be used as a private dining room for intimatespecial events

The hotel's 57 Guest Rooms sit on three floors and feature a bright and airy aesthetic with a combinationof light blue walls paired with light wood floors original to the building. A playful mix of millwork, textilesand patterns are layered throughout, combining florals, tartans and wovens to create dimension andpersonality in the space, while vintage rugs and custom lighting add a residential-inspired element ofcomfort and style. The mix of king, queen and double-bedded guest rooms all feature fine Italian linens,bathrooms with luxe rain showers and Diptyque bath amenities, signature Palisociety stocked mini barswith gourmet snacks, SMEG mini refrigerators, and more.
