216 rooms designed by Matteo Thun. Deutsche Hospitality's first hotel in the state capital of Hessen.

Deutsche Hospitality's new IntercityHotel in Wiesbaden opens for business on 17 January 2022. Located directly next to the city's central railway station and just a short walk from the RheinMain CongressCenter, the 216-room hotel very much places the emphasis on comfort, design and sustainable mobility. Interiors are by the Italian architect Matteo Thun. The FreeCityTicket scheme, which is included in the cost of an overnight stay, offers free use of local public transport and will enable guests to explore the city's leisure, cultural and shopping highlights in an environmentally friendly way.

The hotel is a new build containing a restaurant, a bistro lounge, a bar and a flexible conferencing suite and has been realised as part of a cooperation agreement entered into with the project developer GBI. The owner is Hausinvest, an open-ended real estate fund run by the Wiesbaden-based company Commerz Real, the property investment arm of Commerzbank.

The IntercityHotel Wiesbaden lies at the very heart of the Frankfurt Rhine Main metropolitan area. Germany's largest airport is only 20 minutes away.

The hotel is also showcasing an exhibition entitled "Elementa". This forms part of a photographic art project called "Kunsträume" ("Art Rooms"), which came into being following the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. The artists Karsten Kronas and Kirill Starodubskij present their own view of the city and use the significance of water to trace a picture of Wiesbaden which is only apparently realistic. Karsten Kronas was born in Wiesbaden, whereas Kirill Starodubskij is from Kiev.
