Keith Barr has been appointed Regional Managing Director Greater China at InterContinental Hotels Group in Shanghai
Prior to this, Keith was the Chief Operating Officer, Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific for IHG, with day to day responsibility for regional operations of IHG’s hotels. In that role he has served as the most senior IHG Executive in ANZSP region, overseeing the business and performance of over 54 hotels in multiple countries. In 2008, he was awarded HM Magazine Hotelier of the Year for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific at the 2008 Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence. Prior to assuming this role, Keith was Vice President of Operations for Midscale brands in North America where he had oversight of 175 hotels operating under the Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites brands. From 2001 to early 2005, he was Vice President of Operations for the Holiday Inn brand. Over that four year period, he had growing operational responsibility for up to 68 managed hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Keith joined IHG as Vice President of Sales and Revenue Management when Bristol Hotels and Resorts were acquired by IHG in early 2000 and he was heavily involved in the integration of Bristol into IHG.
