James T. FranklinJim Franklin has held senior level hospitality positions for most of his 25-year career, and was previously general manager for The Point Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. In this position he oversaw all operations and sales and marketing for the resort. Prior to this, Mr. Franklin worked with Magna Hospitality, originally as general manager of the Holiday Inn in Plantation, Florida, and subsequently as divisional vice president of operations overseeing seven boutique properties across the country. These included the Cartwright Hotel in San Francisco, the Hotel Lawrence in Dallas, the Casa Grande Hotel in Miami, and the Eastland Park in Portland, Maine. Jim Franklin has worked with Potomac Hospitality Services, serving as general manager for two of the company’s Washington, DC, properties, including One Washington Circle Hotel and The River Inn. While employed by Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group he was general manager of the Hotel Rouge in Washington, DC. He has also served as general manager for Hotel Lombardy, operated by Classic Collection of Hotels, also of Washington, DC. Throughout the 1990s, Mr. Franklin worked for Grand Heritage Hotels, as general manager for the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach, the Ambassador West Hotel in Chicago, and the Tutwiler Hotel in Birmingham. Earlier in his career he worked with the Potomac Hotel Group as general manager for The Inn at Foggy Bottom in Washington, DC. Mr. Franklin started his career with Hilton Hotels Corporation at properties in San Francisco, Phoenix and Washington, DC. Jim Franklin is a graduate of Washington State University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration. In 2007, his alma mater recognized him as a “WSU Distinguished Hotelier.” Mr. Franklin is relocating to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
