Carl Anthony (Tony) Swainey named Vice President and General Manager at the Gastonia Conference Center
In his role as General Manager, Mr. Swainey will introduce Gastonia Conference Center to the community and the region for weddings, meetings and special events. In addition, he will manage the day-to-day operations of the facility to achieve the established financial targets for the center and will be responsible for preparing budgets, marketing strategies and managing expectations for the new multi-use facility. His responsibilities will also include environmental stewardship of the property’s innovative sustainable hospitality programs. Tony brings solid hands-on experience to the position, having established Old South Hospitality, Inc., a successful consulting practice providing operational, sales and marketing expertise to the hospitality industry along with successful measureable results in the implementation of improved service standards, market repositioning, and new revenue sources. Tony holds a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Administration of Justice from Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. He is active in the Clover, SC community where he lives with his family.
