Michael PalmeriPalmeri joins the Loews team as part of the strategic initiatives the company is taking to expand its hotel platform and portfolio of properties. He will work to identify opportunities to grow the Loews brand into new North American gateway cities, as well as complementary resort destinations. Palmeri will oversee and navigate these efforts through existing asset acquisitions, ground-up construction, and third-party management. “Michael brings a wealth of experience to his new role,” said Troy Furbay, Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Loews Hotels. “We’re pleased to welcome him to New York and look forward to what we anticipate will be a long and successful career as Loews Hotels continues to grow.” Palmeri joins Loews Hotels with extensive ownership experience having previously worked for lodging real estate, private equity platforms – including Chicago-based Abacus Lodging Investors, and San Francisco-based Chartres Lodging Group. Most recently with Abacus, he served as Vice President and Principal, and was responsible for leading both acquisition and asset management efforts. Palmeri has invested in and closed on more than $2.0 billion in full-service, upscale hotel real estate in major U.S. markets.
