Giovanni Angelini joined Kosmopolito Hotels International Limited as independent non-executive director
Kosmopolito Hotels International has appointed Giovanni Angelini as an independent non-executive director and as a member of the remuneration committee. An industry veteran with more than 46 years of experience, Angelini’s experiences spanned three continents. He began his career in his native country Italy before moving to Switzerland, Bermuda, Grand Cayman Island, Canada, and the USA. He spent over 14 years with the Seattle-based Westin Hotels and Resorts before in 1999 joining the Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, an association which lasted over 16 years. During his tenure with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Angelini held various senior top management positions including as vice president operations and as the company’s CEO and managing director as well as a member of the Board of Directors. During his leadership, the group more than doubled in size, growing from 17 to 65 properties in 13 countries and regions. Angelini is currently an independent consultant to the travel and tourism industry.
