Scott MurrayHayman, Australia’s celebrated private island destination in the Great Barrier Reef, has appointed Scott Murray as General Manager. Australian-born, Scott brings extensive international experience to Hayman having held senior hotel positions in Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore and London, after having commenced his hotel career in Australia with The Regent Sydney and InterContinental Sydney. Prior to joining Hayman, Scott was with One&Only Royal Mirage, Dubai for six years, most recently as Hotel Manager, responsible for three individual hotels within the resort and managing close to 1000 team members representing 45 different nationalities. Before this, he was Director of Food & Beverage at InterContinental Dubai overseeing a large and diverse operation. In Thailand, Scott was with Banyan Tree and played an important role in the future development of the brand. He is also a Graduate of The Hotel School Sydney, which is an educational partnership between Hayman owning company, Mulpha Australia Limited, and Southern Cross University, and provides a range of hospitality courses and career opportunities to students. Scott will be working with Mulpha Australia Head of Hotel Investments and Hayman Managing Director, Lloyd Donaldson, in overseeing the operation of the acclaimed 209-room resort and significant projects including the ongoing sale of Hayman Private Residences on the eastern hillside of the island and next year’s commencement of the Hayman Marina Residences development. “Scott brings a wealth of experience across all aspects of hotel and resort operations to Hayman and will perform a key role in the ongoing success of the resort and the exciting integration of our residential development on the island,” Lloyd Donaldson said. “Scott is among a number of new Hayman senior management appointments on the island which form part of Mulpha Australia’s long-term strategies and commitment to maintaining Hayman’s positioning as one of the top resorts of the world as well as offering unique private ownership opportunities within the beautiful natural landscape and surrounds.” Scott is married to Jennifer and they have two sons, Thomas and James.
