Stephane MercierHilton Worldwide announces the appointment of Stephane Mercier, as the general manager of the distinctive 36-story glass tower luxury Conrad Miami in downtown Miami’s financial district. In his new role, Mercier will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the 203 rooms and 103 residence suites hotel, effective immediately. Mercier replaces Martin Wormull who has been promoted to senior director brand performance management, Americas for Hilton Worldwide Luxury brands. Mercier will report directly to Ted Ratcliff, senior vice president, operations, eastern North America, Hilton Worldwide. His expertise in luxury is a result of top management positions with ACCOR brands such as Pullman, Sofitel and Grand Hotel Mercure. Mercier most recently served as hotel manager of Hilton Paris La Defense, a 153-room hotel located at the foot of the Grande Arche at the very heart of Europe’s largest business district in Paris, France. While there, he was responsible for the oversight and management of hotel renovations, revenue objectives and development of revenue and sales strategies. From 2008 until 2011, he was the director of operations for the 463-room art deco treasure, Hilton Arc De Triomphe. Beginning his hospitality career in food and beverage, he quickly advanced in his career and was given increased responsibilities in other departments holding key management positions at such iconic and distinctive hotels as the Grand Hotel Mercure Centre Notre Dame in Nice, France and the Normandy Barriere Hotel in Deauville, Normandie. Mercier holds a degree in economy and social sciences from the University of NICE and speaks three languages fluently: Italian, French and English. He is married and enjoys chess and music.
