Jenifer CutterJenifer Cutter, an 11-year veteran of the Amway Hotel Corporation, has been appointed general manager at Downtown Courtyard by Marriott in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, Cutter oversees 100 plus associates in maintaining the hotel’s high occupancy and exceptional guest-service scores. Cutter previously served as the director of front office operations at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. There she managed all front desk, bell stand, concierge, business center and PBX operations, working closely with the housekeeping, reservations, motor lobby, engineering, sales/catering and food and beverage departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. Under her mentorship, numerous employees went on to become managers and supervisors. In 2006, the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel named her Manager of the Year. She credits the company’s attention to employees for her length of service at Amway Hotel Corporation. The Michigan Lodging and Tourism Association named Cutter one of the “Stars of the Industry” for excellence in hospitality in April, and last year she won the Experience Grand Rapids Lodging Wave Award for her customer service and leadership at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Prior to joining Amway Hotel Corporation, Cutter was a front-end supervisor at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North in Arizona. Previously, she served as managerial assistant at the Ferris State University Racquet and Fitness Center. Jenifer Cutter graduated from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with concentrations in resort/hospitality management and marketing.
