Charles MerchieFollowing an illustrious career in the luxury hotel and restaurant industry, Charles brings with him over thirty years expertise and experience, which will be a great asset to the hotel as it continues to grow and evolve. Originally from France, he trained at the Hotel School of Strasbourg and Lyon before beginning his career, which has taken him around the globe. Having worked with some of the world’s leading 5 star hotels including The Westin Excelsior in Venice, the Renaissance and New World Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, and The Conrad International in Hong Kong amongst others, Charles was venue director at Alea Casino in Leeds prior to his appointment. In addition to his extensive hotel experience, he has also worked as food and beverage director for some of the finest restaurants across Europe including a host of 3 Michelin star venues .
