Jeff Shockley has been promoted VP Acquisitions, Financial Analysis at Hotel Equities Group, LLC
Mr. Shockley’s responsibilities at the hotel development and management company include working as a member of the firm’s Development Team with responsibility for the growth of third party management contracts, while he continues to lead the Financial Analysis Department of the organization. Mr. Shockley began his hospitality career as sales coordinator at the Courtyard by Marriott in Athens, GA He then joined Marriott International as Sales Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott in Roswell, GA. In 1995, Hotel Equities hired him as an Assistant General Manager at the Fairfield Inn in Alpharetta, GA. The next year he opened the firm’s Fairfield Inn in Kennesaw, GA as the General Manager. Marriott named him General Manager of the Year for the Fairfield Inn brand in 1998. As Hotel Equities expanded, Mr. Shockley assumed additional leadership responsibilities including the opening of the 115-room Fairfield Inn and Suites Perimeter Center. He went on to serve on the Hotel Equities opening team for 10 additional Marriott properties. Selected from a field of more than 550 hotels nationwide, he earned his second General Manager of the Year Award in 2007 as GM of the Fairfield Inn and Suites Buckhead. Hotel Equities promoted Mr. Shockley to Financial Analyst for the firm in 2007. His responsibilities increased as the firm grew and in 2009 he was named Director of Financial Analysis and Owner Relations, a position he has held for the past four years. Mr. Shockley holds a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Georgia. Married with two children, he enjoys golf, tennis and volunteering time for Habitat for Humanity.
