Matt ZarubaCarlson, a global hospitality and travel company, today announced the appointment of Matt Zaruba as chief information security officer for Carlson. He will report directly to Steve Brown, chief information and innovation officer, Carlson. Zaruba will lead the company’s information security strategies to create and maintain an environment that safeguards the assets, confidential information and intellectual property of Carlson. He will work within the company’s information security framework to direct the planning, development and implementation of global security policy and technical security architecture. This includes setting policy, standards and guidelines related to proprietary information, communication systems, data security and integrating security architecture into the ongoing Technology/Security plan. Most recently, Zaruba served as director, Information Security and Disaster Recovery for Jack Henry & Associates, Inc., a leading provider of core solutions vital to the banking industry, including processing financial transactions, automating business processes, and managing mission-critical information. Prior to his role at Jack Henry & Associates, Zaruba served as director of Corporate Audit for Travelers Insurance; national director of Computer Assurance for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP; and senior auditor at Ernst & Young, LLP. Zaruba earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and is a member of the Information Systems and Audit Control Association (ISACA). He holds certification as an Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Information Technology Professional (CITP), and Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and is certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, and Risk and Information Systems Control.
