Ronald E. Morin has been appointed Senior Vice President & General Manager at The Edgewater
The Edgewater announced today the appointment of Ronald E. Morin as general manager and senior vice president of The Edgewater, an historic Madison property that is undergoing a $100-million revitalization. As general manager, Morin will oversee the 202-room hotel and welcome guests through its doors when it opens in August 2014. Morin comes to The Edgewater with nearly 30 years of hospitality experience at The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C. His career began humbly, busing tables at the hotel. He developed a passion for the industry that eventually led to a number of management and executive leadership positions, including director of rooms, executive director of operations, vice president, and general manager. During his tenure, the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association named him Lodging Operator of the Year Award in 2013, and Historic Hotels of America awarded him Hotelier of the Year in 2011. Morin also served as immediate past chairman of The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Historic Hotels of America. He cites The Edgewater’s historic nature, sense of place and commitment to seemingly effortless hospitality as what drew him to the property.
