Jalil Mekouar has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer at Hotel Asset Value Enhancement (HotelAVE)
Hotel Asset Value Enhancement Inc. (HotelAVE), North America’s largest independent hotel real estate asset management and advisory firm, announced today the appointment of veteran hospitality expert Jalil Mekouar to the role of President and Chief Operating Officer, effective May 2014. In his role, Mekouar will lead HotelAVE’s team of asset management and advisory experts and capitalize on his extensive global experience to drive the company’s strategic growth and operational expansion plans domestically and internationally. Mekouar brings 25 years of international experience in real estate & hospitality operations, finance, investment, asset management and advisory, spanning 35 countries across 6 continents. Prior to HotelAVE, he was the Americas COO & Managing Director with JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality group, and his career includes senior leadership roles with InterContinental Hotels, Marriott and Minor International Plc. Mekouar holds two bachelor’s degrees, and an MBA from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and France’s leading Business School ESSEC. He is also a chartered Fund and Asset Manager and is certified in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management by Cornell University. A recognized multilingual industry thought leader, Mekouar is regularly invited as a speaker at international conferences around the world and is a member of a number of professional organizations such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Hotel Asset Management Association (HAMA), amongst others.
