Gabriele (Gabi) Kurz has been appointed Executive Wellbeing Chef at Talise Wellness at Jumeirah Group
Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, has announced the promotion of Gabriele Kurz (Gabi) from Wellbeing Chef at Madinat Jumeirah to Executive Wellbeing Chef at Talise Wellness, Jumeirah Group. In her new role, Chef Gabi will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Talise Nutrition concept across all the Talise operations and in Jumeirah’s hotels. Talise Nutrition offers a range of organic, healthy food and beverages created to suit individual requirements. The carefully created cuisine is designed to address different needs, helps individuals eat well and stay in shape. Chef Gabi has a long and impressive career in healthy cuisine working in Germany and the Middle East. After joining Madinat Jumeirah in 2007 as Chef de Cuisine, she developed the concept for a fine-dining vegetarian restaurant specialising in wellbeing. Over the years, her role expanded and in 2011 she was promoted to Resort Wellbeing Chef of Madinat Jumeirah where she created wholesome and nutrionally well-balanced cuisine, using only organic and plant-based ingredients in the resort’s restaurants. Responsibilities also included menu development for all the signature restaurants in the resorts including in-room dining, Conference & Incentives events and the entire Talise Spa menu. Chef Gabi received her Master Hotelier from Steigenberger College of Hotel Management in her home country Germany. She holds a certificate for Diabetic and Obesity Consultation and she is the author of several celebrated vegetarian cookbooks, one of which was honoured with the ‘World Cookbook Award’ in Paris in 2011. In November 2013, she was awarded “Culinary Influencer of the Year” by Pro Chef Middle East.
