Ian ThorleyThorley was previously Director, Sales & Marketing for the Delta Sun Peaks Resort & Residences. As a leadership committee member and 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Thorley was able to produce record years for the resort by implementing new marketing initiatives and comprehensive business plans. In 2009, Thorley oversaw the expansion of the resort with the addition of over 40 condo units and two additional restaurants. Prior to joining Delta Hotels & Resorts, Thorley spent more than 15 years in a number of sales related positions, including being based in Calgary as Royal Hosts's National Sales Manager for Western Canada before moving on to become a Director of Sales & Marketing. Thorley's diverse hotel background comes from working with an array of hotel brands and independent hotels, including Travelodge, Hilton, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and Skyline Hotels & Resorts. Thorley has been a past member of Meeting Planners International, Canadian Society of Association Executives and Canadian Professional Sales Association as well as serving seven years on the marketing advisory committee for Tourism Sun Peaks. Thorley began his hospitality career graduating with an honours degree from Ryerson University's hotel management program. Bellstar Hotels & Resorts manages and develops destination resorts and boutique hotels in Alberta's Rocky Mountains and in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden, BC and Vancouver Island.
