Ed WallsEd Walls has joined Hilton Worldwide as the newest member of the Curio – A Collection by Hilton management team. As the General Manager for Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood since October 2011, Walls will continue to oversee the overall operations and sales for the 998 room beachfront property. Located in Hollywood, Florida, the 39-story resort is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway and features a 209,000 sq. ft. convention center, six on-site dining options including Diplomat Prime, luxurious 14,000 sq. ft. full-service spa, 24-hour fitness studio and a private marina. Walls joins Hilton Worldwide with over 34 years of experience in various capacities. He started his hospitality career in 1977 with Guest Quarters, Inc. in Washington D.C. and Houston Texas, holding several leadership positions before joining W.B. Johnson Properties as general manager in 1981. Since then he has held the positions of general manager, director of operations and area managing director for several hospitality companies including Boykin Management, Arden Hotels and more recently Starwood Hotels and Resorts. An active participant in local affairs, Walls was recently appointed to Broward County’s Tourist Development Council and currently sits on The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the City of Hollywood Office of Tourism Marketing Advisory Committee, the Art & Culture Center of Hollywood Board of Directors, the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Citizens Advisory Board, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Board of Directors and is also involved in several local Broward charities. Showing a passion for the community, he has been very involved in previous assignments in senior leadership positions with a myriad of local community organizations. Walls holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and a Masters in Public Administration from The American University in Washington, D.C.
