Biu Waqaniburotu named Human Resources Manager at Castaway Island
Biu had eight years experience as labour officer at the Fiji Department of Labour and Industrial Relations and spent five years as human resources manager at the Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa. He also worked as manager of support services for Captain Cook Cruises and is actively involved in the Fiji Hotels Tourism Association’s human resources committee. Married with three children, Biu is a keen rugby fan and is a rugby administrator for the Nadi Rugby Union and Referees Association. Castaway Island Fiji is part of the Outrigger Enterprises Group and Biu’s initial task is to review the resort’s human relations program to ensure it reflects the company’s corporate culture , the Ke ‘Ano Waa’ or The Outrigger Way. He is responsible for producing updates, policies, procedures and programs that further drive respect, accountability and responsibility. He reports to Castaway Islands Fiji General Manager Steven Andrews.
