April Renee Storms has been appointed Director of Sales at Andaz 5th Avenue in New York
Storms brings a decade of hospitality, sales, and management experience to her new position, much within the Andaz brand as well as Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Most recently, she held positions as Director of Transient Sales and Director of Agency Sales at three New York properties - Andaz Wall Street, Andaz 5th Avenue, and the Grand Hyatt New York, overseeing all aspects of the luxury travel programs for all three properties. During her time overseeing these properties, she led significant growth in sales. Additionally, Hyatt named Storms a HyPerformer, an award given to individuals who excel at production goals and serve as a role model and mentor to their peers. Storms previously served as Director of Corporate & Leisure Sales at Andaz West Hollywood, where she managed the hotel's corporate volume accounts and luxury leisure travel programs, along with hiring, training, and mentoring the transient, group, and catering sales teams' sales initiatives throughout a $13 million renovation. During her time in California, Storms was awarded Manager of the Year for 2011 and Individual achievement for 2011. Prior to joining Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Storms worked with properties in the Dorchester Collection and The Ritz-Carlton portfolios in Southern California.
