Michael Hoffmann Michael B. Hoffmann, recently the vice president of Brand Performance Support for both Waldorf Astoria and Conrad Hotels & Resorts brands, has been appointed managing director of the Waldorf Astoria New York and the Towers of the Waldorf Astoria. Bringing with him more than 30 years of luxury hotel experience, he will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and the forthcoming restoration of the brand’s flagship property. Michael succeeds and will report directly to Ronen Nissenbaum, who was recently promoted to vice president, Luxury Hotel Operations, North America, Hilton Worldwide. Michael’s new role will take effect immediately. Hoffmann first joined Hilton Worldwide in 2005 as managing director of the Boulders resort in Carefree, Ariz. where he oversaw all property operations until January 2013. Hoffmann then transitioned into the role of vice president of Brand Performance Support for Waldorf Astoria and Conrad Hotels & Resorts portfolios, the luxury brands of Hilton Worldwide. Previously, Hoffmann founded Hoffmann Hospitality, a consulting company focused on providing opening support, brand positioning, and service-driven management solutions for such prestigious hotels as Claridge’s London, The Carneros Inn, Napa Valley, The Sam Houston Hotel, and The Shore Club, Miami. A graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and native of Switzerland, Hoffmann has held various management and global operations positions with established luxury hotel brands including The Peninsula Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, One&Only Ocean Club and Bacara Resort & Spa.
