Arlene RamirezAs of November 1, Arlene Ramirez, CHAE, CHE, CHIA, MBA commenced her term as global president of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®). Ramirez was recently honored at the association's 2015 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in Bellevue, Wash. USA. Ramirez is principal at ADR Hospitality Consulting and faculty at the C.N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. She is a graduate of the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas, Austin. Ramirez is the founder of ADR Hospitality Consulting. As a faculty member at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, she teaches courses in hospitality accounting, finance and hotel development. She also has over 20 years of corporate and property level experience in hospitality finance in the hotel and club industries with companies such as Marriott, Four Seasons, The Woodlands Operating Company and Benchmark Hospitality International. Arlene is a long-time member of HFTP. She has served on all volunteer levels for the association, having been on the HFTP Global Board, twice chair of the Educational Advisory Council, speaker at various conferences and a frequent contributor to HFTP’s The Bottomline Magazine. Arlene is also a former president of the HFTP Greater Houston Chapter and a faculty advisor to the HFTP Cougar Student Chapter. Arlene also has assisted numerous times on special projects for HFTP. Currently she is a project leader for the Global Hospitality Accounting Common Practices project (GHACP). She was also facilitator of the CFO roundtable on the International Financial Reporting Standards. As part of her role as HFTP Global president, Ramirez will represent HFTP at industry events and also meet with HFTP members at chapter meetings and educational conferences in the United States and across the globe as a means to lead the association in carrying out its strategic goals. She is a strong advocate for the professional development opportunities provided by the association.
