Shawn Jervis Shawn Jervis, most recently with The Embassy Row Hotel, A Destination Hotel in Washington D.C., has been named the general manager of the Miramonte Resort & Spa, a desert retreat in the heart of Indian Wells, California. In his new position, Jervis will oversee all day-to-day operations for the 215-room, 11-acre resort directing activities such as sales and marketing, food and beverage and ongoing property repositioning. Jervis is not new to Destination, and has spent seven years with the company also managing the high profile Terranea Resort, a coastal 582-room, 102-acre luxury resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., working his way up the ranks from opening food and beverage director to director of operations to interim general manager. During his productive tenure with The Embassy Hotel, he successfully repositioned the urban property – spearheading a $15 million renovation, building a new leadership team and garnering numerous accolades, including a nod as one of 10 Best New Hotels in America for 2015 by USA Today. Prior to joining Destination, Jervis honed his hospitality skills at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, holding a series of food and beverage management positions at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, in Maui, Hi. Additionally, he was director of banquets for The Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn, Michigan, and for the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui. He is a decorated combat veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps and was awarded a Combat Action Ribbon and named a Presidential Honor Guard for George Bush Sr. He was also with the Hawaii Army National Guard for five years, earning the Army Achievement Award. A native of Colorado, he attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
