Gregory ThierionHilton Seychelles Northolme Resort&Spa hosted an event with local dignitaries and members of the business community like the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, and Minister for Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports, Vincent Meriton to pay tribute to Mr. Claus Steiner, Cluster General Manager of Hilton Seychelles Hotels, who after 4 years in Seychelles will be moving on to another role within Hilton Worldwide. It was also an opportunity to welcome the new General Managers, Mr. Gregory Thierion, General Manager for Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort&Spa and DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort&Spa, and Mr. Andre Borg, General Manager for Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort&Spa. Minister St.Ange congratulated Mr. Steiner on his achievements over the last few years as a true partner for the Seychelles tourism industry and playing an active role in the development of hospitality for the resorts as well as the people of Seychelles. A number of key milestones have been achieved within the Hilton Seychelles Hotels in the last 4 years where 19 awards have been won from international organizations like the World Travel Awards, Global Traveler Awards, and TripAdvisor, lauding these hotels as the Best Resort in Africa and the Indian Ocean’s Leading Spa Resort, among others. At the end of 2015, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort&Spa opened the much-awaited 16 luxury pool villas with a 2-bedroom presidential villa having the largest private in-villa pool in the north part of Mahe. DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort&Spa opened in January 2014 and is highly successful not only from a financial perspective but also in the local community by being awarded the Community Care Award for Europe, Middle East, and Africa Hotels within the Doubletree Brand for its contribution within the local community. From a business perspective, Mr. Steiner has looked at synergies and opportunities to maximize resources and performance within his teams by implementing a cluster structure within departments like Business Development, Finance, Purchasing, and IT. In the wider community, Mr. Steiner serves as Board of Trustee member for the Silhouette Foundation as well as a member of the Mentoring Committee for the Seychelles Tourism Academy and Shannon College Graduates to impart knowledge and expertise for future leaders in hospitality.
