Chorten WangyelThe Dunmore, Harbour Island’s luxury resort, is delighted to announce the appointment of celebrated hospitality executive, Chorten Wangyel, as General Manager. In this leadership role, Wangyel will oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the charming Bahamian hotel nestled atop the famous pink sand beach. With more than a decade of experience in the high-end hospitality market, Wangyel has created a name for excellence with some of the most elegant five-star resorts in Asia and the Caribbean. Most recently, he served as General Manager at The Cove Eleuthera in the Bahamas where he guided the management team in its successful sale and transition to new owners, Enchantment Resorts, in 2015. With Wangyel at the helm, he led the property’s ranking in leading travel guides as one of the world’s top hotels and the very best in the Caribbean in two short years.' Prior to this position, Wangyel worked in IT management at a number of COMO Hotel & Resorts where he was able to gain first-hand experience to multiple areas of resort operations, ultimately preparing him for a role in hospitality management. Originally from a small, remote village in Bhutan, Wangyel is a graduate of the Master Certification Program in Hospitality Management from Cornell University and holds a diploma in Hotel Operations from the Institute of Hotel Management, Good Shephard, Kalimpong, India.
