At Grand Velas Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Andreas SchmidtIn Mr. Schmidt's new position, he is responsible for the new 304-suite resort's next generation of all-inclusive amenities and facilities including a selection of gourmet specialty restaurants led by top chefs, including two star Michelin chef Sidney Schutte; world class Se Spa; staff ratio of 3 to 1; exceptional meeting facilities, and commitment to the environment. Grand Velas Los Cabos is the newest resort of Mexico's Velas Resorts with over 25 years of tradition in hospitality. Andreas Schmidt has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, he acted as Brand and Quality Director at Karisma Hotels & Resorts with properties throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico. Prior to, he held the management positions at the top-rated Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun, Intercontinental and Hilton International. Mr. Schmidt has completed Professional Development Programs (PDP) at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. Of German nationality, he speaks German, English and Spanish.

30 January 2018 — Nestor Daniel Can Jones has been named head Mixologist of the “Beyond All Inclusive, Beyond All Compare” Grand Velas Los Cabos. In his new position, he oversees the AAA Five Diamond resort’s craft cocktails and signature beverage offerings at its four bars, including the new Tequila & Mezcal Bar opening in March.

Mario Lopez - Executive Chef

29 December 2017 — Mario Lopez has been promoted to Executive Chef of the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Maya, one of Mexico’s Foodie Resorts. In his new position, he oversees the “Beyond All-Inclusive, Beyond All Compare” resort’s AAA Five Diamond restaurant, Cocina de Autor, the first all-inclusive restaurant in the world to win this prestigious distinction.

Guillermo Carmona - Executive Chef

27 December 2017 — Guillermo Carmona has been named Executive Chef of Velas Vallarta, an all-inclusive family resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In his new position, he is responsible for the resort’s three restaurants; poolside snack bar; lobby bar; crepe and ice cream stations, and the Mexican Fiestas held every Sunday.
