Cornelia BrinkmanOn October 23rd, Cornelia Brinkman has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Moscow Marriott Hotel Novy Arbat in the city center of Moscow. Ms. Brinkman has a vast experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in various countries. Cornelia began her career in the hospitality industry as an apprentice in 1991 and officially in 1994 as a Front Desk Clerk at the Best Western Delta Park Hotel Mannheim in her native Germany. By 1997, Cornelia was already the Front Desk Manager in Germany’s largest hotel chain – “Maritim”. Having worked there for less than 2 years, the hotel’s General Manager recognized her as his right hand and she skilfully combined two positions – Assistant to GM and Front Desk Manager. In 2000, Cornelia decided to grow her career internationally and joined Marriott International, Inc. – the world’s leading Hospitality Company. For 3 years, Cornelia headed the Front Desk at the largest Marriott hotel in Europe - Frankfurt Marriott Hotel. She continued climbing up the career ladder and soon became the Director of Rooms Operations. Ms. Brinkman’s next international move was to England, where she continued her professional career in the post of Director of Operations at the Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel. Her first appointment as a General Manager occurred in Kazakhstan at the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments where she earned numerous awards of excellence for improving the hotel's performance, both financially and socially. Ms. Brinkman came to Russia in late 2013 and immediately fell in love with this country. Thus, she headed the Renaissance St. Petersburg Baltic and Courtyard by Marriott Vasilievsky hotels. In general, it can be said that Cornelia is a true fan of wanderlust because of her strong desire to travel and to explore the world and connect with new cultures. To date, Ms. Brinkman is also the Chairman of the Business Council in Russia. Having developed academically through numerous hotel management programs, Ms. Brinkman brings a passion for creativity, innovation, and strong leadership skills, supported by solid commercial expertise. The main task that Cornelia Brinkman will be faced with as the General Manager of the Moscow Marriott Hotel Novy Arbat is to bring the hotel to a leading position in the capital’s competitive market and to deliver unforgettable experiences to our business and leisure guests. Her duties will include monitoring compliance with the global brand standards and assessing the quality of the services provided.
