Royal RoweRoyal grew up in Virginia and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology from Radford University. After completing his education in 1979, he joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Royal held various managerial positions in the food and beverage and human resources departments at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC, Four Seasons Hotel Houston and Four Seasons Hotel Austin, Texas. Always in search for a challenge, Royal answered the call of Asia and joined the pre-opening team of Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay as director of food and beverage in 1992 and was promoted to executive assistant manager in 1994. In May 1997, Royal was appointed resort manager overseeing the opening of Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. The resort received numerous awards under his leadership, not only for its unique environmental setting in the highlands of Bali, but also for its warm, friendly and efficient service. Royal was promoted to general manager in 2001. Royal served in several other well-known hotels most recently in China as general manager for six years at Four Seasons Hotel Macau. Prior to joining Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, Royal was a lecturer for Hotel Management and International Marketing at Stenden University, a Dutch Institution based in Bali.
