Mark YankeHospitality industry veteran Mark Yanke has been named the new President and Managing Director of The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel. This San Antonio, TX staple owned and operated by BC LYND which is often referred to as the ‘jewel of Texas’ welcomes Yanke’s expertise to the executive team. Yanke comes to The St. Anthony Hotel with over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry having recently held a President and General Manager position at the Hotel Emma also located in San Antonio. As The St. Anthony Hotel has received a recent restoration and rebirth into the community, Yanke’s operational strengths and ability to implement team leadership is sure to help the property continue to flourish. Spanning his impressive career in hospitality, Yanke has experience running major hotel operations worldwide. Yanke has managed to create successful environments for his properties to prosper through his leadership abilities, streamlining internal organization platforms, and increasing revenue and overall sales. His skillset will prove to be a valuable addition to The St. Anthony Hotel as the property prides itself on continuing to be a hospitality leader in San Antonio since 1909. Yanke’s past appointments include a 20-year tenure at Redstone, where he joined as general manager of The Houstonian Hotel in 1993 and later served as vice president and managing director, and senior vice president. At Redstone, Yanke managed operations at The Houstonian Hotel; Club and Trellis Spa; Lakeway Resort and Spa; and The Redstone Companies' golf clubs: ShadowHawk Golf Club, The Houstonian Golf & Country Club, BlackHorse Golf Club, and Redstone Golf Club – home of the PGA TOUR Shell Houston Open. His previous experience also includes, operations analyst for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and president/partner of the Freeman Group. Yanke is a graduate of Northwood University where he received a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, served as the Chairman on the Board of Governors and Trustees, and, in 2002, was awarded an honorary doctorate. He also served as a member of the Advisory Board for Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and has held several leadership positions that include: Chairman of Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chair of the Hotel and Lodging Association of Greater Houston. Yanke also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for The Super Bowl XXXVIII Host Committee as Houston was the host city for 2004.
