The Mayfair Hotel, an historic Downtown Los Angeles hotel established in 1926 and managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of Peter Kolla as General Manager. Ahead of the hotel's top-to-bottom renovation debuting in June, Kolla will be tasked with a multi-faceted opening launch, inclusive of overseeing all budgets, marketing plans and operations in his new position at The Mayfair.
Kolla's prior experience includes a tenure as General Manager under a myriad of Crescent Hotels & Resorts-managed properties including Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, Doubletree by Hilton Albuquerque and Marriott Syracuse Downtown where he took a AAA Three Diamond rating to a prestigious AAA Four Diamond rating. Prior to that, he served as General Manager of the Four Points by Sheraton Los Angeles International Airport, a full-service hotel next to one of the largest airports in the world. There he achieved many recognitions including being appointed to the General Manager's Advisory Committee and as a member of Gateway to LA's board of directors. Kolla also served as Director of Operations for SBE, one of the world's largest privately-held lifestyle hospitality companies, where he was responsible for the effectiveness of 250 operational staff members, supervisors and managers and was directly accountable for the organization and coordination of six major renovation projects.
In addition to his extensive time managing hotels, he also had his foot in the culinary world overseeing some of the most upscale and prestigious restaurants in Los Angeles such as Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel, Union Restaurant and Bar, and Café Melisse.
Kolla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California Santa Barbara.
