Steve Spear

The Kessler Collection is pleased to welcome Steve Spear as general manager of Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston. An esteemed member within the Charleston hospitality community, Spear brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry. In his new role, Spear will manage the property's day-to-day success, overseeing all operational aspects of the 50-room signature boutique hotel, including its wine blending classes and tasting room, rooftop restaurant and bar, Grand Bohemian Gallery and the Maison Café.

With an unparalleled passion for the industry, Spear's outstanding record of management success and strong knowledge of the field make him the ideal candidate for this position. Spear's hospitality excellence stems from beginning his career at a very young age, working for a small inn located in Hershey, Pa. In 1991, Spear relocated to Charleston to attend Johnson and Wales University. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management, Spear jumpstarted his management career serving as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Sheraton Hotel. Over the course of the next twenty years, Spear served as General Manager and Regional Director for area hotels including Market Pavilion Hotel & Grill 225, Town & Country Inn and Suites, and other hotels with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Hilton Hotels Corporation.

A true hospitality visionary, Spear not only works on varied community philanthropy efforts, but also has achieved accolades including being awarded Hilton's No.1 Hotel in the State and earning top Guest Satisfaction Scores in the system.
