Gary Obligacion

Post Ranch Inn, world-renowned as one of the country's top luxury resorts and located atop Big Sur's 1,200-foot-high cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, is pleased to announce its new general manager, Gary Obligacion. With more than 20 years of hospitality experience in a variety of award-winning hotels and restaurants, Obligacion's appointment marks his anticipated return to the Monterey region.

Before joining the Post Ranch team, Obligacion served as the director of operations of The Alinea Group, which owns and operates three Chicago-based, award-winning restaurants, Next, The Aviary, and the Michelin-starred Alinea. His primary focus was to ensure the guest experience at each restaurant was consistently exceeding expectations by maintaining exceptional service standards through ongoing staff training. Prior to this position, he gained valuable experience managing high-end hotels and restaurants, including The Sebastian Vail in Colorado, Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley, The Lodge at Pebble Beach, and The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. During its first year, Obligacion served as the initial executive director of the annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine and advanced as the successful event's vice president of operations for two additional years.
