Stephen Sowards has been appointed General Manager at The Don CeSar

The Don CeSar, Florida's iconic "Pink Palace," has recently appointed industry veteran Stephen Sowards as General Manager for the historic 277-room property. With over 25 years of experience, Sowards brings wisdom from previous positions focusing on resorts and luxury hotels with golf clubs, spas, restaurants, and more. Having worked with international brands such as Marriott, Viceroy Hotels, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and most recently, Evolution Hospitality, Sowards is bringing a unique combination of urban and mixed-use luxury experience to The Don CeSar family.
In his new position, Sowards is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the AAA Four Diamond hotel, its six restaurants and lounges, the property's 38,000-square-feet of indoor and outdoor event space, and the Beach House Suites by The Don CeSar, a 70-room, all-suite beachfront property located half a mile down the beach from the "Pink Palace." A strong believer of keeping it simple, Soward strives to achieve "win/win" solutions and balanced, positive results across all branches in hospitality.
Born and raised in Ohio, Sowards has lived all over the U.S. and Latin America, including Florida, Oregon, California, Colorado and Brazil, chasing his hospitality ambitions before settling down in the Gulf Coast of Florida. Having earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio University in Applied Science, Accounting and Finance, Sowards was drawn to the industry by his love for people and meaningful relationships.
