Brett C. Schavey

Ruckus Networks has appointed Brett C. Schavey as the new global sales engineering director for hospitality at Ruckus. Brett will be responsible for the worldwide systems engineering teams for hospitality and Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) and will report directly to Larry Birnbaum, vice president of Global Hospitality and MDU Business Development and Solutions.

Brett has held various cross-functional roles over the past three decades, working for large enterprise, value-added reseller and vendors, providing insights into all facets of the business.

Prior to joining Ruckus, Brett was director of sy stems engineering for the U.S. West at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) where he was responsible for leading their Enterprise Group Systems Engineering teams. He successfully changed their go-to-market strategy to support the channel, SMB, large enterprise and service provider sales.

Before HPE, Brett was the global director of technical marketing at Meru where he participated in the Wi-Fi Alliance and his contributions to their next generation architecture were recognized in patent # 9025581-Hybrid Virtual Cell and Virtual Port Wireless Network Architecture.

Previously, Brett's work at Colubris Networks included bringing the industry's first wireless client bridge to market for use in hospitality and manufacturing; and leading early IoT and Fixed Mobile Convergence deployments in Australia and North America.

Brett lives in Colorado and is passionate about music, backpacking and travelling, which he shares with his wife of 35 years and their tw o children.
