Throughout his career, Chef Chandra has demonstrated a superb ability of bringing his own fresh perspective to traditional dishes and re - imagining them. Chef Chandra's arrival at Banyan Tree opens a new and exciting chapter in Phuket's world of fine dining. While preparing for his highly anticipated debut in Phuket, Chef Chandra took a moment to reflect on joining the Banyan Tree brand.

Chef Chandra's culinary journey began in his hometown in Malaysia and continued on to England and the Maldives. He then spent most of his career in America, i ncluding not able work at the 2 - Michelin - star Avenues Restaurant with Chef Curtis Duffy at The Peninsula Chicago. He has also worked at several 3 - Michelin - star restaurants, alongside legendary American chefs such as Chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry, Chef Charlie Trotter at his celebrated restaurant, Chef Grant Achatz at Alinea and Trio, and Chef Curtis Duffy at Grace Restaurant Chicago. Following his highly successful stint in the United States, Chef Chandra returned home to join Hilton Kuala Lumpur as their Chef de Cuisine.
