Emil Leung

Last August, Mr. Emil Leung Fat Chung was appointed as Managing Director of the Cordis Shanghai, Hongqiao. Before this appointment, He was General Manager of the Cordis Beijing Capital Airport.

Mr. Leung was born in Hong Kong and pursued a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

He is a highly respected hotelier with over 30 years' of experience in the industry, including 20 years with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in China, Taiwan and Singapore.

Mr. Leung started his career with the Shangri-La group as Director of Rooms at Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei and then held management positions within Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Singapore, Dalian, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Taiwan.

In 2010, he was promoted to the Area General Manager overseeing their hotels in Futian and Guangzhou. In 2014, he was assigned to Beijing Area General Manager in charge of China World Hotel, China World Summit Wing and Traders Hotel.

Mr. Leung said, "Now that we have successfully opened the first Cordis hotel in Mainland China, my role is to bring the hotel to the next level in terms of building brand awareness and growing with the greater Hongqiao to become a major hub in Shanghai."

In addition to having vast industry experience, Mr. Leung was named one of the "Top 10 Prominent Youth in the Chinese Hotel Industry" in 2007 and then in 2014 he was awarded "Best General Manager of the Year" at the Golden Pillow Awards and, in the same year, received the "Golden Leader Award for the Outstanding General Manager in China Hotel Industry 2014". He was also named one of the "Best General Managers of China" at the 10th China Hotel Starlight Awards.
