Monica Mataloni

McKibbon Hospitality, an award-winning leader in the hotel development and management industry, announced today that it has hired Monica Mataloni as general manager of Aloft Asheville Downtown. Mataloni will be responsible for overseeing all operations for the lifestyle hotel located in the heart of downtown Asheville.

Mataloni brings 20 years of hospitality management experience to Aloft Asheville Downtown. Prior to joining the Aloft team, she was general manager of the Hampton Inn Hallandale Beach Aventura Hotel. She has worked for several well-known hotel chains and received numerous certifications including the Hampton General Manager Certification. She is a Certified Rooms Division Executive and Hospitality Revenue Manager through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Mataloni graduated from the University of Perugia in Italy with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management.

Aloft Asheville Downtown boasts 115 rooms, meeting and event space, a W XYZ bar with weekly live music, an outdoor pool with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and a collection of local artwork. The hotel also has an ongoing foster dog program. Through the program, Aloft partners with local animal shelter Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue and hosts one dog at a time that can be adopted by locals and visitors.

The hotel is owned and managed by McKibbon Hospitality, which also manages three additional hotels in Asheville including the AC Hotel Asheville Downtown, Courtyard Asheville and SpringHill Suites Asheville. The company manages 11 hotels in North Carolina and is currently developing the Hotel Arras and Arras Residences in Asheville. In total, McKibbon's portfolio consists of nearly 80 hotels across the nation.
